On 29th April – 1st May 2016, ARCS inaugurated its donors’ meeting with Qatar Red Crescent Society’s cooperation and collaboration in Doha.
ARCS International Relation and Dissemination Department reported that 10 National Societies’ high ranking members including Qatar Red Crescent President, Head of IFRC KL, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Kabul delegates, deputy of Ministry of Public Health, and Head of Strategic and Policy Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan were the meeting participants.
In day first, the participants focused on humanitarian affairs, related challenges and needs to meet, and cooperation and coordination between ARCS and the Movements’ components. At the end of the day, Norwegian, Qatar, Canadian and Swedish National Societies shared their experiences regarding working with ARCS.
In day second, ARCS departments announced their needs associated with their sectors and submitted their strategies to participants. So, groups of six individuals formed to discuss the strategies to priorities them. Accordingly, the donor National Societies indicated fields of their consideration to support.
Finally, after finalizing the strategic and technical discussions, ARCS and Qatar Red Crescent Society have concluded a Project Agreement to establish 10 public health sub-centers in remote and isolated areas of Ghazni and Zabul provinces.
The donors’ meeting was closed by IFRC and ICRC delegates and Qatar Red Crescent President’s lectures.
