Our Perspective

ARCS President’s New Year Message
Mar 16, 2016

Let me begin by congratulating you all on your achievements and successes this year. My special thanks to benevolent communities of Afghanistan, Afghan compatriots and ARCS volunteers and staff for all the ways they continue to support the ARCS .Finally, as we end the year, I wish you and your families an enjoyable holiday and a new year 1395 full of good health and success. It's your hard work, determination, and fundamental decency that led us forward through 1394 and that will keep leading us forward in 1395. As the New Year approaches us with hopes anew, most people are making their New Year’s resolutions of perseverance, closure and establishing new experiences for the months to come. This year, the goal of humanitarian service is well in demand and this can be the opportunity for many of you to take the first initial step towards call of action. The efforts of humanitarianism are generally accepted to mean the aid and action designed to save lives, assuage suffering and maintain and protect human dignity during and in the aftermath of man-made crises and natural disasters, as well as to prevent and fortify vigilance for the event of such situations. What marks it out from other forms of aid and foreign assistance is that it should be guided by the principles of: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, volunteer service, unity and university. Everything about the future is uncertain, but one thing is for sure that God had already planned all our tomorrows; accordingly, we just have to trust him today, and I heartily wish a beautiful tomorrow for you and your family. Happy New Year 1395 Fatima Gailani Afghan Red Crescent Society President
